The sauna house at a glance

Common Good is opening a sauna house next door to Common Good Spaces. This is what we can tell you so far.

What it is

  • A sauna house at 71 Forest Street, Castlemaine, next door to Common Good Spaces at 69 Forest Street.
  • We call it a sauna house rather than a bathhouse. The focus is the sauna itself, Finnish style.
  • We want it to be somewhere you come often, as part of your week, not a special treat.
  • It's not a spa. There are no treatments and no spa services.

The sauna, plunge and soak

  • A communal sauna.
  • A cold plunge, around 10 to 12 degrees Celsius.
  • A hot magnesium soak, at 38 degrees Celsius.
  • The plunge and the soak are rest options alongside the sauna.

Opening date

  • We're aiming to soft launch shortly.
  • We don't have an opening date to share yet.
