Getting in
How the front door at 69 Forest Street works, and what to do if it won't open.
During coworking hours
- Coworking runs Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 8:30am to 5pm. The door is unlocked then. Push it and come in.
- Outside those hours the building is usually closed and the door is locked.
The doorbell and remote unlock
- If the door is locked and you're expected, use the doorbell by the door. Swipe up on it and it calls us.
- When we answer, we can see you through the doorbell and unlock the door from our phone.
- We need to be near a phone to do this, and sometimes we're away from it for a moment. If no one answers, wait a few minutes and try again.
- If you still can't reach us after a couple of tries, call or text us and we'll let the team know.
Door codes
- A personal door code lets you open the door yourself when the building is closed: an early start, an evening, a weekend, or a day you've booked the workshop space or the whole venue.
- Private groups using the workshop space usually get a code, so they're in control of who comes and goes.
- Ask ahead of time. Request it from your member access page on our website once you have a booking, or email us. Codes are usually ready within 24 hours, so we can't set one up on the spot.
- The code is usually five digits. We text and email it to you, and it's also on your member access page at commongood.social/member.
- Codes are personal. Please don't share yours.
Using a code
- Key in your code on the keypad, wait a moment, then push the door.
- The handle doesn't do anything when you use a code. The electric lock releases a moment after the last digit, and you'll usually hear a click. Push the door past it.
- The lock won't release if there's pressure on the door when it tries to open. Pushing before the click does it, and so does wind against the door.
- If the door won't open: pull it closed tight, key in your code again, wait for the click, then push.
Keys and open mode
- For groups hosting people who've registered, like a class or an event, we can leave the door in open mode with a key so people can walk in.
- We may need to come down to open up, and come back later to lock up. Arrange it with us ahead of time, as part of your booking.
Leaving
- You can always get out, whatever the lock is doing. The door opens from the inside.
- If you have a code or keys, close the door behind you so it latches.
Steps and access
- Two steps up from the street to the front door, and no ramp. One more step inside, towards the kitchenette and toilet.
- There's no wheelchair accessible entrance, and no wheelchair or ambulant accessible toilet, at 69 Forest Street.
- If you have access needs, email us before you come and we'll talk it through.
